Shelley Smith says goodbye to The X Factor

Shelley Smith has become the second contestant to get the boot from The X Factor  live shows this year.

She was beaten by boy band Kingsland Road in the results show this evening, with the other three judges electing to send Sharon Osbourne's act home for the second week on the trot.

The boys had performed a version of Pink's Try, while Shelly sang Sam Brown's Stop.

Sharon only has  of her Over 25s - Sam Bailey - left in the contest.

Speaking on The Xtra Factor afterwards, Shelley said: "I kind of expected it going up against Kingsland. They're amazing, I love them.

"I was just ready because I love the boys. I'm really pleased for them."

Katy Perry
and Robin Thicke made guest appearances on the show.
