Kingsland Road have been named as the first act to face the sing off in The X Factor this weekend, after coming bottom in last night's flash vote.
The fivesome's version of Bruno Mars' Marry Youfailed to win the hearts of viewers on "love and heartache week" and they will sing for survival against a yet-to-be-named act in the results show tonight.
The band's Jay said: "We gave the best that we could today and hopefully when we come back tomorrow we can give it our all."
And their mentor Gary Barlow added: "I'm gutted for the guys. They know what they need to do. James Arthur was in the bottom two and won the competition so we've got to come back fighting."
The band have also come under fire in a story in The Sun newspaper, claiming that they and Sam Callahanwere "assisted" with pre-recorded backing vocals on the first of the live shows.
A source told the paper: "It's obvious the producers were worried that Sam and Kingsland Road were going to sound dire.
"But because they look the part a real effort was made to boost the vocals with a prominent vocal background track."
