According to MTV news UK
Drake has confirmed that he's no longer involved with plans to release a posthumous album from Aaliyah.
The Young Money star had previously announced that he was executive producing a new LP using the late singer's vocals - but has now revealed the project has been scrapped.
During an interview with MySpace, the Nothing Was The Same star explained: "Before things went downhill with it, I was actually working with my dream collaboration.
"Me and [producer] 40 were working on this Aaliyah album that kind of got blown out of proportion. There are records with me and Aaliyah that no one has ever heard and they're really good. I think the press got out of hand."
Drake added: "They maybe just had a different vision for it. I'm not sure. It was sounding great to me. Whatever they end up doing with it, I wish them the best of luck.
"There might be a record with me on there. I'm not sure."
After the project was announced last year, Aailyah's close friends Timbaland and Missy Elliot distanced themselves from the record.
At the time, Timbaland was quoted as saying: "A lot of these rappers out here are awful. Drake could do a record with Aaliyah. It ain't going to work."
I think this shows how much power the media has over stars, this would of been such a fantastic album. I feel it is very sad that this is not going ahead anymore, lets hope Drake changes his mind.
