Jay-Z recommended wife Beyoncé for OST movie soundtrack

 

The Great Gatsby director Baz Luhrman has revealed Jay-Z recommended wife Beyoncé for the film's soundtrack.

The Destiny's Child star and Andre 3000 have covered Amy Winehouse's iconic song Back To Black for the movie, with Baz explaining that their version of the track is perfect to create a "darker moment" for a particular scene.

He explained to MTV News US: "We were looking for, 'How do we have a darker moment?' and he said have a listen to this, and he [Jay-Z] played it."

Winehouse's father Mitch has been very vocal when slamming the cover, tweeting that Andre 3000 part on the tune was "terrible."

Luhrman also went on to reveal how it came about for Emeli Sande to cover Queen B's classic hit Crazy In Love for the soundtrack, adding: "I mean 'Crazy In Love', does it make you think of any character in the book? "

"I won't know and then a great epiphany was that I wanted it to blend between the modern music and the traditional."

He added: "Bryan Ferry for years has been obsessing with this really traditional jazz band, and then Emeli Sande does the vocal, that's where we go!"

The Great Gatsby OST is due for release on May 7, with the film hitting UK cinemas on May 16.

Amy Winehouse could get a street named after her close to her home in Camden, her dad Mitch has revealed.

He told The Sun that fans have submitted "Winehouse Street" as a suggestion for the name of one of 10 new roads being constructed in Kings Cross, north London.

He said: "To think that our surname would be indelibly linked with London through the naming of a street after Amy is remarkable.

"We're a London family through and through and it would be a tremendous honour if we do become a literal part of the fabric of this great city."

Amy died at her London home in 2011 after a drink binge.

It was recently confirmed that a documentary is being made about her life by Asif Kapadia, the director of Senna.

We have heard about this track for a few months now and today finally a version has dropped online!! Andre sounds incredible and has made this Amy Winehouse track like something new and fresh. Beyonce does what she does best, sounding hot with her big sexy voice!! Mark Ronson played the full song on his East Village Radio show on Friday night.

The track is featured on The Great Gatsby soundtrack, which has been put together by the mighty Jay Z and will also include Emeli Sande and Lana Del Rey.

Even though they both sound fantastic on the track I am very confused as to how this the track fits into the film based on what I have red over the past few moths, I guess I'll jus havectovwaitvforvthe film to be relished.

Beyonce may look like a hot muma on stage but she decided to leave the makeup at home for her day out in Paris. She was seen out with her husband and her beautiful daughter, it's fantastic to see the family looking so happy and how much Blue is growing, if you ask me she's looking more like Jay-Z every time I see her. In my opinion I think Mrs Carter should forget about the markup more often she still looks hot to me!!

Rihanna has hit out at long-time rival Ciara on Instagram.

RiRi took to the image-sharing website to question why Ciara keeps talking about her in interviews, suggesting that the singer allows the media to "play her."

The Diamonds hitmaker wrote: "Why am I still the main topic of her interviews!!

"She don't be shame tho? How she let em play her like that everytime?? It's like, 'yea I know you're here to about (insert album title) but we wanna talk about a more relevant topic... Rihanna!!!"

The 25-year old added: "Like she sits there and falls for it everytime!!!! #whurrisyopublicist."

Both Rita and and the Feel The Love hitmakers will take to the stage in the Mediterranean on June 26.

Speaking of their involvement, Rudimental said: "We can't wait to touch down in Malta to play live for MTV! See you all in June!"

Justin Timberlake to host Capital FM Summertime Ball.

According to MTV news,
Justin Timberlake has been announced as this year's host of the Capital FM Summertime Ball.

The Mirrors hitmaker is set to front the annual event - which raises money for the radio station's Help A Capital Child charity - on Sunday, June 9 - where he will introduce the acts on stage.

It is currently unknown whether JT will perform himself at the music spectacular, which takes place at Wembley Stadium.

The likes of Justin Bieber, Cheryl Cole and Usher performed at the concert in 2012, with this year's line-up expected to be announced on air tomorrow (April 25).

Pre-sale tickets for the Capital FM Summertime Ball are available now, with general sale beginning on Friday (April 26) at 8am.

Justin is also set to perform at the Wireless Festival in July, where he will join fellow headliner Jay-Z on stage for his set at the event on the last night

JLS leave fans heartbroken this morning as they announce they will be spitting up after 6 years together, the beat again sniggers have had 6 number one singles and have sold more then 10 million albums worldwide, however they have decided to call it a day

To each and every JLSter, our beloved fans around the world. We wanted to make sure that you heard it from the four of us, that we have decided to bring our time as a band to an end. It has been the most incredible journey over the last 6 years and we have achieved more things than we could have ever dreamed possible. Thanks to all of you guys, your support, your dedication and your love, you have changed our lives forever and we wouldn’t be where we are today without you.

We are currently in the studio working on what will be our last album- Goodbye; The Greatest Hits. We will be bringing you a new single later in the year to coincide with the album and the tour. Goodbye; The Greatest Hits Tour will be the last time that we will perform together as a 4 and we want to make sure that this tour is the best ever and that we end on a high! We will always remain brothers and friends and we will always be your boys.

We will continue to work on the JLS Foundation after our split, as we want to raise as much money and awareness as possible for great causes and our partner Cancer Research UK. We also want to continue the legacy that we started 3 years ago with the Foundation and we hope that you always continue to support that.

Rihanna is known for being quite the workaholic and her hectic schedule is proving to take it’s tool on the Barbadian beauty… She hasn’t been feeling well recently and on Monday was forced to cancel another show on her Diamonds World Tour, we hope she recovers soon and gets some well deserved rest!

Late last year Rihanna visited 7 countries in 7 days and performed 7 concerts to promote her 7th album ‘Unapologetic’ just saying this out loud felts a little exhausting imagine being a part of this whirlwind trip… The cameras where on filming the once in a life time experience and on Monday 6th May a special one hour documentary will air showing their journey and here is a teaser.

This should be very exciting to get an. Inside look into the starts life, I also love to see how these shows are put on and that hard work that goes into this.

It has been reported the the late singers dad has said that beyonce brings nothing to the track back to black,this comes after beyonce covers it as part of her latest project.

Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has stated that Beyoncé "brings nothing" to her rendition of Back To Black.

The Destiny's Child star has covered Winehouse's iconic track for Baz Luhrman's forthcoming adaptation of The Great Gatsby - with Mitch stating Bey should "pay for the privilege" of covering his late daughter's tune.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Mr. Winehouse said: "I don't think she brings anything to it. I wasn't asked for my permission if they could record it.

"They have got to pay for the privilege, which is what they are doing. I can't tell you how much it is but it's a lot of money."

Unapologetic is the seventh studio album by Barbarian recording artist Rihanna, released on November 19, 2012, by Deff Jam Recordings. This album is said to been record between the moths of June and November 2012. Unapologetic has features from  Mikky Ekko, Chris Brown and Eminem 

when it was released Unapologetic received generally mixed reviews from music critics. Some critics found its music interesting, while others criticized the lyrical content and the nature of the album. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 238,000 copies, becoming Rihanna's first number one album on the chart and best-selling debut week of her career. The album also became Rihanna's third, fourth and fifth consecutive number one album in the United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland.

I have listened to this album a number of times before even attempting to writing this review as I felt I needed to hear it a number of times in order to give it a fair review.after I first heard it I wasn't to sure about it, however after i really listened to it I felt that this a the best album I had heard from the star. One of the main reasons I say this is because you can really feel Rihanna's emotional concentration with the music, for example 'What Now' i feel Rihanna is lost and doesn't know what to do also the track Half of me' I think the star is relating it to her "haters"

I feel even though the star show her more emotional side in this album she has not her confident and loud side and think you see this most in  Pour It Up and jump . if you have you not this yet go get it now

Alicia Keys - Girl On Fire album.

This album is Alicia Keys  fifth studio album,which was released on November 22, 2012, is Keys' first release with RCA Records witch is the name of her new record label.Alicia was forced to part ways with J records after sonny entertainment took the decision to close it down. 

   This album debited at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart with first-week sales of 159,000 copies, becoming her fifth number-one album in the United States. It was promoted with two singles, including the title track, which charted at 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Upon its release, Girl on Fire received generally positive reviews from other music critics. Girls on fire has features from   

Nicki Minaj and Maxwell.

I think this album is one of the best alums I have heard in a long time, I feel it has a very different vibe ,feel and a good mixture  if beats to it. keys seems to come across very confident with a hint of sadness in this album and I  think that is a good mix to have in music like this. If you have not picked this up yet It is in the shops now.

Beyonce has given us taster of what's too come with a preview of her new video for her brand new single 'Grown Woman"  where the star has gone back to the hair colour of blonde, As we all know the song was part of the new Pepsi advert but now it is time for bey to focus on the official video witch is all about dancing and looking 

very grown and sexy. Bey is seen in a trouser suit and polar neck, we can’t wait to watch the whole thing!!

R&B  star Ray J has denied that his new single I Hit It First is about ex-girlfriend, Kim Kardashian.

The song, which apparently features a pixelated bikini snap of Kimmy for its artwork, features the lyrics: "She might move on to rappers and ball players, but we all know I hit it first" - thought to be a reference to Kanye West and ex-hubby Kris Humphries.

He also sings: "I hit it north, and her ass goin' south, but now baby chose to go west, while also stating: "If you were to come back to me, girl, we'll make another movie" - an apparent dig at the infamous sex tape they made together.

Despite the obvious references to Kim, Ray J has now told radio station Hot 97 that people are "going way too deep" when it comes to the track.

The singer explained: "It's a song, it's not about that. It's about a concept, you know what I'm saying? People are going way too deep... They've just got to keep it on the surface. Like, I'm not trying to create no war. It's all love. We're doing music."

When quizzed if he's still smitten with the socialite, Ray J claimed: "I think people are digging into it too deep. It's a song - we're just having fun, that's it."

He added that he "never" bumps into Kim and Yeezy - who are due to welcome their first child together in July, adding: "It's not a war. It's not a diss song. We're just having fun. Bring it back to the song - that's all I'm on."

Kim has said nothing about the track as of yet

According to The Sun, the Oscar-winning songstress is back making sweet music with the likes of producers/songwriters James Ford and Kid Harpoon - who have worked with Florence Welch, Jessie Ware and Arctic Monkeys.

A source told the tabloid: "Adele wants to move with the times and is trying to make her new record sound as edgy as possible.

"The team she's assembled is first rate and she's confident they can help match the success of her first two albums.

"It's no easy task as the world will be desperate to hear it."

Last month, it was claimed that Adele was set to record a swing duet with her pal Robbie Williams, with a source telling The Sun: "They are great friends and talked at length about doing something together when she was in LA with him ahead of the Oscars last month.

"They threw some ideas around but haven't decided exactly what song they'd like to work on, things are in the early stages."

Inducing Rainy Milo.

Rainy was born in South-East London, Rainy started singing with local musicians and arts collectives. When the singer was just 14 she was sure wanted to be around inspiring people, in an recent interview with The Guardians music reporter she says "There was so little of that where I lived; an area which gave little hope to anyone, it's almost like they were told that they had a crappy fate and were willing to just go along with it,"  not not her she would be on the Internet looking for music and beats to inspire her and make music to.

Rainy then found a beat witch was produced by BLCK RSSN, shorty after Rainy started work on a track witch is now tilted "Bout you" this track was then picked up by Gilles Peterson for his Brownswood Bubblerscompilation series. After various offers from record labels were declined because the young snigger didn't feel ready. However work then stared on her first EP witch is called "Limey" witch you can download free from sound cloud. It has many different feathers on it including Chet Faker and Ariel Pink producer Cole and many more

X Factor goes back to basics

The X Factor will be going back to basics in an attempt to win back some of its lost viewers, it has been reported.

The no-frills approach will include auditions without backing tracks or studio audience. Instead, contestants will have to face the judges in an "intimate setting" and perform a-cappella.

A spokesperson told the Sun: "We can confirm the audition rooms will be returning to the X Factor as one of a number of exciting changes."

The overhaul is said to have been ordered by Simon Cowell to revive some of the show's former sparkle and win back the two million viewers lost last year.

A senior show source told the Sun: "Fans wanted changes this year -- and we're giving them what they want. The a-cappella auditions were classic X Factor and really gave the judges an insight into whether acts were any good.

"It also better showcased some of the weird and wacky people we get, whose performances got lost in the arena auditions. The plan is to have the best of both worlds."

Other suggested plans for the show include bringing Sharon Osbourne back as a judge and starting the show later in the year -- in early September.

Ray-J plans to diss Kim-K

It has been reported that Ray-J is to bring out a track talking about he's relationship with Kim Kardashan . if you ask me I think this is ridiculous, the things people do for a comeback.
Ray-J should leave the past in the past. Kanye  will surely have something to say if this comes to pass, however I don't think he should even bother to reply. hold your head in shame Ray-J!!

The Dangerously In Love singer stands in a mirrored studio as she rehearses her dance moves (presumably for her upcoming Mrs Carter World Tour – coincidentally sponsored by Pepsi) when she dips into an ice bucket to find a chilled can of the well-loved soft drink.

Challenging herself to a dance-off, Beyoncé throws some impressive shapes as she dances in the mirrors before declaring, ‘Embrace your past, but live for now.’

It’s not the first time Bey has starred in a Pepsi advert as she was roped into two video shorts in the early 2000s alongside Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and David Beckham.

She re-signed with the drinks giant in December last year for a ‘multi-year’ deal, allegedly netting a £33 million paycheck in the process.

Beyonce to cover Amy's "back to black" track

Not many singers would want to cover a classic by the late Amy Winehouse, but it looks like Beyoncé is taking on the challenge.

The Sun reports Mrs Carter is teaming up with Andre 3000 to cover Back To Black for the soundtrack to Baz Luhrman's adaptation of The Great Gatsby.

Beyoncé's husband Jay Z is executive producer of the album and has already recruited Jack White for the project.

Elsewhere the Love On Top singer has been talking to British Vogue about whether she considers herself a feminist.

RRi keeps it real

She may be one of the biggest stars on the planet, but Rihanna has always liked to keep things real.

Already a fan of taking the underground when she's in London, the Diamonds singer has been spotted doing a bit of shopping at the Walmart supermarket in the Canadian town of Kamloops. It's basically the equivalent to Asda...

According to The Mirror Rihanna's tour buses were spotted in the supermarket car park by a fan who was hoping to spot Riri's touring partner A$AP Rocky.

The shopper apparently tweeted: "I thought it was A$AP but Rihanna is pretty cool too."

She apparently stocked up in refreshments for the tour bus, but news of her shopping trip quickly spread, with the manager of the supermarket telling the Kamloops Daily News: "It was funny, I was actually at home having an Easter brunch and my 14-year-old daughter got a text from her friend saying, 'Oh my God Rihanna's in Walmart!' So then she freaked out."

Chris Brown Teases "Sexy" New Rihanna Collaboration 'Put It Up' And Possible Joint Album

The 'Turn Up The Music' star says he will release his new record 'X' and then talk about a full record with the Bajen star.

Chris Brown has been teasing more details about his new collaboration with Rihanna and said the track is "sexy" and "youthful".

The 'Don't Judge Me' star first unveiled details of the team-up last week as he revealed plans for new album 'X'.

"So we did 'Nobody's Business' for her album, and then I wrote a song, it's called 'Put It Up'," he told MTV. "It's more of an R&B record."

He continued: "I wanted to do an R&B record with Rihanna because I didn't want it to be the same four-on-the-floor, pop."At the end of the day, that's what they expect from us, so I wanted to do more of a record that nobody really heard her sing on as far as that genre."

As well as explain the song would be "youthful and at the same time sexy", he said talked about the title.
"You know what 'It' is, so just 'put it up'," he said.

Chris also revealed how the artists' work ethic is the same but their processes can differ quite considerably.

"Me, I'm in the studio like [a] ball of energy; I don't really write ... I never write, it's all off of what's up here," he revealed. "Whether it be rapping or me singing, I'll go sing a melody, come up with a concept and write it that fast and we'll knock out the song in like an hour.

"With her work ethic, it's the same — she's just as liberal and vibrant. She goes in the studio and it's easy for her, like it's nothing." 

A particular instance stood out to the star that left him in complete awe of his rumoured girlfriend.

"I remember she was doing her album and I was at the crib one day, and she was just recording in the house ... and she was just sitting there, the TV was going — [the sound] was off — but she was sitting there with the headphones, singing, the top of her lungs, killing the song. I was like, 'Woah, she do it just like me. That's effortless'," he said.

With another new collaboration confirmed, MTV also posed the question of the pair teaming up for a full album together.
