Pink heads to the Oscars
pink will be performing at the Oscars next month, the singer has confirmed.
“Big news!!! I'd like to thank @TheAcademy for inviting me to perform on the #Oscars on March 2nd!! #holycow,” the singer tweeted over the weekend
“We are very excited to welcome Pink to the Oscar stage for the very first time,” said producers of The Oscars ceremony, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
“She is regarded as one of the greatest voices in pop music and one of the best performers of her generation, and we are thrilled to have her join us for a highly anticipated moment on the broadcast.”
The Grammy Award-winning artist, who was named Billboard’s Woman Of The Year in 2013, has also dabbled in acting, appearing in the critically-acclaimed Thanks For Sharing, which also starred Gwyneth Paltrow and Mark Ruffalo.
Pink is the latest performer to be announced for the star-studded show, which will be watched live by billions of people in 225 countries around the globe.
Best Song nominees Pharrell Williams and Idina Menzel (from Disney’s Frozen) are also set to sing on the night.
